Smart Docs update: Easily Request eSignatures with PDFs and Google Sheets and Google Slides

Smart Docs Update September 2021

To help you close deals faster, Smart Docs users on the Professional and Enterprise plan can now upload and share quotes, proposals and contracts in PDF format and set up templates using Google Sheets and Google Slides.

Users can upload a PDF file directly from their device into Pipedrive, create a link to request a digital signature and set up tracking to get a notification when their doc has been opened.

But that’s not all that’s new. If you’re a Smart Docs user connected to Google Drive, you’ll be able to use Google Sheets and Google Slides to set up templates to use time and again, taking your document creation to the next level.

Can I use Smart Docs if I’m not connected to Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive/SharePoint?

Previously, Smart Docs users had to be connected to Google or Microsoft drives and were only able to send clients a Google or Word doc.

With our latest update, you can upload PDFs straight into Pipedrive without having to connect to any third-party storage system.

That means you can generate a PDF in your favored tool, upload from your device and request a trackable eSignature, getting the most from Smart Docs without being limited by document type.

Once you share your document with your client, you can set up notifications to find out when they’ve opened the link so you can follow up with your customer at the right time. If you need to make changes to your document, you’ll be able to create new versions which will be clearly logged in Pipedrive.

I’m a Smart Docs user connected to Google Drive, what new features do I have?

We've added to the previously available Smart Doc features to give you more time to focus on what’s important: finding, nurturing and closing deals.

You no longer need to worry about the cumbersome task of copying and pasting data from spreadsheets into Pipedrive. Users connected to Google Drive can use their customized Google Sheets and Google Slides docs, set up templates and generate documents quickly.

You’ll also be able to:

  • Auto-populate templates and documents with Pipedrive data

  • Generate documents from Google Sheets and Google Slides to share with clients using a tracking link

  • Upload PDFs from your device or import from your drive

  • Request eSignatures to close deals

Microsoft OneDrive and Sharepoint users will continue to have the same functionality they have now, with the added ability to upload PDFs from their device or drive.

What other features do I get with Smart Docs?

With Smart Docs, admin users can use permission settings to manage who can access specific templates, giving you added control over your important documents.

You can allow your whole team to create and import new templates and give colleagues access to all team-shared documents and templates in an easy-to-use centralized location

You can also remove the Pipedrive logo from documents (and any emails during the document signing process) to keep the focus on your business.

Smart Docs in available on the Professional and Enterprise plans. You can check out the Smart Docs feature page for more info.
