Draw a colleague’s attention to an update you’ve made to Pipedrive or a note you’ve added to a Pipedrive entry with the new in-app mentions feature.
We know how important team collaboration is for our users so that they can keep in touch, never miss important updates and share changes with each other on the tools they use—especially when many of us are working remotely.
Before, it was necessary to jump on an external messaging app if you wanted to notify a colleague about something new in Pipedrive. Now, all you have to do is use the ‘@’ symbol and their name, and they’ll receive a notification (depending on their notification settings).
Here are just a few ways you can use in-app mentions:
- Tag your employee in a note inside a task you’ve created for them to underline its importance or add further detail
- If you’re on a phone call with a colleague and want to share an entry with them, use the ‘@’ symbol in the notes and they’ll receive a notification immediately, rather than having to waste time by guiding them to the entry
- Have a question about a new deal that’s been added to Pipedrive? Just tag the creator in the notes section with your query
- Comment on notes to create a thread and be notified when people add more comments
Although we’ve created this feature so that you don’t have to switch between tools, saving you time and reducing the number of tabs you have open, we know that you’ll still use many of these messaging tools on a daily basis. That’s why we used the ‘@’ symbol, which you will be familiar with if you use Slack, Whatsapp, Hangouts, Skype and many more communication tools.
When someone uses the ‘@’ symbol to mention you, you will be informed of the tag via Sales Assistant based on your notification preferences. You can choose to be notified immediately, by the Sales Assistant if you are using Pipedrive or by email if not, or you can choose to be notified by the Sales Assistant when you log into Pipedrive.
When you use the @ symbol to tag someone else, a selection of your team members’ names will appear in a drop-down list, making it quicker for you to find the person you are looking for.
You can reply to a mention by posting a comment on the note, which will send a notification to the note creator. You can also ‘@’ other people in your comment if you want them to see it and they will also be notified. After you’ve commented on the note, you will receive a notification every time someone else adds to the thread, even if they don’t ‘@’ mention you.
In-app mentions are currently available to users in the notes section of a deal, organization or person. We will be rolling out in-app mentions to all Pipedrive users throughout May and June. Read our Knowledge Base article for more details.
